Boneless and lean. The whole beef rump is a boneless piece of beef cut from the hindquarter that covers the hip bone. Full of robust flavor the rump can be turned into a roast or after roasting thinly sliced for making your traditional roast beef sandwiches. Keep in mind that rump is most tender when cooked for long periods of time to break down the connective tissues. It’s a versatile piece of meat that is excellent when roasted, braised or casseroled, stir fried or pan fried. It doesn’t have much fat or marbling. Rump roast is known for being an economical cut, making it the perfect weeknight family meal!
